The House of Parakeet

‘An exhibition of Print, Ceramics, Textiles and Installation, conceived and curated by Fredrix Vermin & Pat Lunch, with work from eight selected artists.’


For this ininaugural exhibition at The House of Parakeet each artist was invited to responded to the theme of ‘HOME/Interior’ and either make new work or choose works with the curators they felt responded to this topic. Wider discussion and occuring themes touched on Domestification, National Identity, Housing security, Domestic violence, Sexual liberation, Lived landscapes and Architecture’s impact on socialisation and class structures. Workshops and events ran throughout the show to give further insight into the work.
